False Bay during Sunset

This was an amazing evening. On the coastal road to Hermanus just 2,5 kilometres outside of Gordons Bay we had the big pleasure to observe a whale family. And after that we could even be a part of this special evening. The sky was borning on the horizon behind the Sleeping Man (Table Mountain) and at the same time it was a blue sky like during daylight. An unbelievable moment!

Dies war ein ganz besonderer Abend. Auf der Küstenstraße nach Hermanus, nur 2,5 Kilometer ausserhalb von Gordons Bay hatten wir das Glück eine Walfamilie beobachten zu dürfen. Und danach durften wir sogar noch diesen speziellen Abend erleben. Der Himmel schien zu brennen, zumindest am Horizont hinter dem Schlafenden Mann (Tafelberg) und zugleich konnten man noch den blauen Himmel wie bei Tageslicht erleben. Ein unglaublicher Moment!

Beach at Koelbay - Surfers Paradise

We were alone on this quiet afternoon at Koelbay. Expect a handful of surfers who tried to get some waves on the right hand side of us. It was really a special time or even a magic moment. Normally the beach of Koelbay is always so overcrowded. But not in September and we still jumped into the water. But I must admit …. it was really really cold.

An diesen ruhigen Nachmittag waren wir komplett alleine am Koelbay Strand. Ausgenommen ein paar Surfer, die rechts von uns versuchten ein paar Wellen zu erwischen. Es war wirklich ein magischer Moment. Normalerweise ist Koelbay immer so überlaufen. Aber anscheinend nicht im September. Ins Wasser sind wir trotzdem gesprungen. Aber ich muss zugeben, dass das Wasser wirklich sehr kalt war.

Koelbay Beach - a surfers paradise in South Africa

This photo shows the Koelbay Beach which is a famous place among South African surfers. Koelbay is Afrikaans and means Cool Bay because of a very dangerous and ice cold tide. In the background this beautiful mountain chain which is characteristical for the coastal road from Gordons Bay to Hermanus.

Dieses Foto zeigt den Strand von Koelbay der unter den südafrikanischen Surfern sehr bekannt ist. Koelbay ist Afrikaans und meint Cool Bay wegen der sehr gefährlichen und eiskalten Strömung. Im Hintergrund sieht man eine wunderschöne Bergkette, die typisch für die Küstenstraße von Gordons Bay nach Hermanus ist.

Amazing Sunset at the False Bay Coast

Wow! This view you can enjoy so often on the veranda of Sunset Manor. I adore it so much every time. Altough this picture is wonderful it cannot show the real atmosphere at all.

Diesen Anblick kann man so oft auf der Verandah im Sunset Manor genießen. Ich vergöttere es so sehr jedesmal. Obwohl dieses Bild wunderschön ist kann es leider nicht die tatsächliche Atmosphere vermitteln.

False Bay shortly before a thunderstorm

This picture was taken from veranda of Sunset Manor. Wall of clouds kissing the False Bay. Looks like those boats better get home soon.

Dieses Bild wurde von der Veranda im Sunset Manor aus aufgenommen. Eine Wolkenfront küsst die False Bay. Die Boote sollten lieber möglichst schnell in den Hafen schiffen.

Looking at Table Mountain during Sunset

This photo is so amazing. Like the sky is burning. In the backround you can spot the sleeping man. It is the Table Mountain on his south east side. This picture looks like one we posted in the very beginning. But it is only the same place from where the photo was taken but a different time and another photographer.

Das Photo ist einfach was besonderes. Der Himmel scheint zu brennen. Im Hintergrund sieht man den schlafenden Mann. Das ist der Tafelberg von seiner Süd-Ost-Seite. Das Bild erinnert an eines das wir ganz am Anfang online gestellt haben. Aber nur der Ort der Aufnahme ist der selbe zu einer anderen Zeit von einen anderen Fotografen.
