Dune at Sossusvlei in Namibia

It is amazing hiking around in the middle of nowhere in a desert. At Sossusvlei you can find this huge dunes. But be careful don’t get lost.

Es ist schon beeindruckend irgendow in der Wüste in der Mitte von Niergendwo umher zu wandern. Bei Sossusvlei findet man unendlich viele dieser großen Dünen. Aber aufgepasst. Man kann sich leicht verirren.

Dead tree in the Dan Viljoen Game Park near Windhoek in Namibia

Cottage at the ghost town of Pomona

This Cottage is situated in the coastal town Pomona on the atlantic seaside of Namibia near Luderitz. This ghost town is also calles diamond city. A relict from the diamond rush early 1900. 

Diese Hütte steht in dem Küstenort Pomona an der Atlantikseite von Namibia in der Nähe von Luderitz. Diese Geisterstadt wird auch häufig Diamantenstadt genannt und ist ein Überbleibsel aus der Zeit des Diamantenrausches zu Beginn des letzten Jahrhunderts.

Bird Island in South Africa

Estimated 50 thousand birds at a few square metres. You only see and hear birds! Nice sightseeing spot with a museum on your way from Cape Town to Namibia.

Geschätze 50 Tausend Vögel auf ein paar Quadratmetern. Man sieht und hört nur die Vögel sonst nichts. Die Vogelinsel ist ein schöner Sightseeing Spot mit einem Museum. Ist auf jedenfall einen kurzen Abstecher wert, wenn man auf dem Weg von Kapstadt nach Namibia ist.

Lonely tree in the Namibian Desert

Isn’t it a fascinating to see this tree growing in this lifeless nature. This picture was taken in the namib desert at the entrence to the Sossusvlei Nature Reserve. A great place which you have to visit if you visit Namibia.

Ein faszinierender Anblick, wie der Baum in dieser leblosen Landschaft gedeihen kann. Das Bild wurde in der Namib-Wüste am Eingang zum Sossusvlei Naturreservat aufgenommen. A großartiger Fleck Erde den man unbedingt besuchen sollte wenn man sich in Namibia aufhält.

Cape of Good Hope

Another breathtaking view. Out of a little bit different angle as the most common photography of the Cape of Good Hope. Not from the top of Cape Point but from the hiking trail going down from Cape Point to the shore. I like it almost more than the view from top like on that picture of our first post.

Ein weiterer atemberaubender Anblick. Das Kap der Guten Hoffnung diesmal aus einem etwas anderen Winkel aufgenommen als die meisten Fotografien. Nicht vom Cape Point von oben nach unten fotografiert, sondern vom Wanderweg aus, der von Cape Point runter an das Ufer führt. Mir gefällt dieser Blickwinkel fast besser als von oben auf das gesamte Kap runter fotografiert, wie bei diesem Bild aus unserem ersten Blogeintrag.

Victoria Falls Bridge between Zambia and Zimbabwe

The Victoria Falls Bridge above the Zambesi River is between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It carries mainly the foot traffic to the Zambian Boarder and is situated directly next to the famous Victoria Water Falls.

Das ist die Victoria Falls Brücke, die über dem Zambesi Fluss zwischen Sambia und Simbabwe liegt. Hauptsächlich trägt sie den Fußverkehr zur zambianischen Grenze und liegt direkt neben den sehr bekannten Victoria Wasserfällen.

View over the Cape Peninsula from Table Mountain to Cape Point

I have been on Table Mountain several times. But this time it was a special day. Although during the end of the south african winter period we had a very warm day, the wind wasn’t blowing at all and we had this magnificant panoramic view to the Cape Point.

Ich war schön mehrmals auf dem Tafelberg. Dieses mal war es aber ein ganz besonderer Tag. Obwohl noch im südafrikanischen Winter hatten wir einen warmen Tag erwischt. Der Wind war still und wir durften diesen wunderbaren Panorama Blick bis zum Cape Point erleben.

Fish River Canyon in Namibia

It is a breathtaking moment to look at the Fish River Canyon. Even if you have already seen the Grand Canyon it is still a wonderful view. Personally for me it was nice to see a different landscape after the Namibian desert. The Fish River Canyon is in the South of Namibia not so far away from the border to South Africa.

Wenn man auf den Fish River Canyon blickt ist ein ein atemberaubender Moment. Selbst für diejenigen, die bereits auf den Grand Canyon blicken durften, ist es ein wunderschöner Anblich. Für mich persönlich war es besonders toll nach der namibischen Wüste eine etwas andere Landschaft zu sehen. Der Fish River Canyon liegt im Süden Namibias nicht allzu weit von der Grenze nach Südafrika entfernt.
