Living Stone Monolith at the Fish River Canyon Lodge

Very nice photo of this mystic living stone monolith next to the Fish River Canyon Lodge. A very impressive place in the heart of the Fish River Canyon Nature Reserve in Namibia.

Cottage at the ghost town of Pomona

This Cottage is situated in the coastal town Pomona on the atlantic seaside of Namibia near Luderitz. This ghost town is also calles diamond city. A relict from the diamond rush early 1900. 

Diese Hütte steht in dem Küstenort Pomona an der Atlantikseite von Namibia in der Nähe von Luderitz. Diese Geisterstadt wird auch häufig Diamantenstadt genannt und ist ein Überbleibsel aus der Zeit des Diamantenrausches zu Beginn des letzten Jahrhunderts.

Cape of Good Hope

Another breathtaking view. Out of a little bit different angle as the most common photography of the Cape of Good Hope. Not from the top of Cape Point but from the hiking trail going down from Cape Point to the shore. I like it almost more than the view from top like on that picture of our first post.

Ein weiterer atemberaubender Anblick. Das Kap der Guten Hoffnung diesmal aus einem etwas anderen Winkel aufgenommen als die meisten Fotografien. Nicht vom Cape Point von oben nach unten fotografiert, sondern vom Wanderweg aus, der von Cape Point runter an das Ufer führt. Mir gefällt dieser Blickwinkel fast besser als von oben auf das gesamte Kap runter fotografiert, wie bei diesem Bild aus unserem ersten Blogeintrag.

Victoria Falls Bridge between Zambia and Zimbabwe

The Victoria Falls Bridge above the Zambesi River is between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It carries mainly the foot traffic to the Zambian Boarder and is situated directly next to the famous Victoria Water Falls.

Das ist die Victoria Falls Brücke, die über dem Zambesi Fluss zwischen Sambia und Simbabwe liegt. Hauptsächlich trägt sie den Fußverkehr zur zambianischen Grenze und liegt direkt neben den sehr bekannten Victoria Wasserfällen.

Fish River Canyon in Namibia

It is a breathtaking moment to look at the Fish River Canyon. Even if you have already seen the Grand Canyon it is still a wonderful view. Personally for me it was nice to see a different landscape after the Namibian desert. The Fish River Canyon is in the South of Namibia not so far away from the border to South Africa.

Wenn man auf den Fish River Canyon blickt ist ein ein atemberaubender Moment. Selbst für diejenigen, die bereits auf den Grand Canyon blicken durften, ist es ein wunderschöner Anblich. Für mich persönlich war es besonders toll nach der namibischen Wüste eine etwas andere Landschaft zu sehen. Der Fish River Canyon liegt im Süden Namibias nicht allzu weit von der Grenze nach Südafrika entfernt.

A lonely tree in the Krueger National Park

This was for me a very contrariety theme. A lonely tree in this semi-desert landscape obviously getting not enough water and just behind this small (struggeling for himself) river.

Dieser Anblick war für mich ein äußerst widersprüchliches Motiv. Ein alleinstehender Baum der offensichtlich zu wenig Wasser bekommt und direkt dahinter der kleine selbst austrockenende Fluß.

Twelve Apostels and Camps Bay

This picture shows the mountain chain called “Twelve Apostels” and Camps Bay,  the well known suburb of Cape Town. This magnificent view you have from the top of Table Mountain.

In front of Nelson Mandelas former prison Robben Island

This picture shows the bricks outside of the prison on the Robben Island. The complete island was a prison where Nelson Mandela had to stay for 17 years of his life.
The contrast between the bricks and the beautiful Agarve in front means a lot for me. It shows how the prisoner had to be strong and emphatic about lifes beauty at the same time.

Das Bild zeigt die Gefägnismauern von Robben Island. Die komplette Insel war mal ein Gefängis, in dem Nelson Mandela 17 Jahre seines Lebens verbringen musste.
Der Kontrast zwischen den Ziegelsteinen und der Agarve im Vordergrund erwirkt ein schönes Spannungsfeld. Es zeigt wie die Inhaftierten überleben konnten. Stark und hart zu sich selbst und niemals die Schönheit der Welt vergessen.

The peak of Cape Point

This photo shows the absoluteley peak of Cape Point. Often pointed out as the most southern point of Africa falsewise. The most southern point of Africa is the Cape Agulhas.

Dieses Foto zeigt die absolute Cape Point Spitze. Oft wird diese fälschlicherweise als der südlichste Punkt Afrikas bezeichnet. Tatsächlich ist dies aber das Cape Agulhas.

Lions Head - Signal Hill - Robben Island

This beautiful view you can experience on the top of Table Mountain. This picture shows the Lions Head and Signal Hill. In between you can spot Sea Point and in the background you can see the former prison Robben Island.

Diesen wunderschönen Anblick erlebt man vom Tafelberg aus. Das Bild zeigt den Löwenkopf und den Signalberg. Dazwischen erkennt man Sea Point ein Stadteil von Kapstadt und im Hintergrund die ehemalige Gefägnisinsel Robben Island.
