In front of Nelson Mandelas former prison Robben Island
This picture shows the bricks outside of the prison on the Robben Island. The complete island was a prison where Nelson Mandela had to stay for 17 years of his life.
The contrast between the bricks and the beautiful Agarve in front means a lot for me. It shows how the prisoner had to be strong and emphatic about lifes beauty at the same time.
Das Bild zeigt die Gefägnismauern von Robben Island. Die komplette Insel war mal ein Gefängis, in dem Nelson Mandela 17 Jahre seines Lebens verbringen musste.
Der Kontrast zwischen den Ziegelsteinen und der Agarve im Vordergrund erwirkt ein schönes Spannungsfeld. Es zeigt wie die Inhaftierten überleben konnten. Stark und hart zu sich selbst und niemals die Schönheit der Welt vergessen.
